Maritime Weapon Engineer Lead

Job Summary

The Qatari Emiri Naval Forces (QENF) are currently undertaking a major personnel and equipment modernisation programme that is being supported by BQ Solutions. The Maritime Weapon Engineer Lead will assist in the delivery of this activity, working with QENF personnel to assess and improve the Weapon Engineering capacity required to deliver and sustain these new capabilities now and in the future.

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver across the spectrum, including but not limited to strategies, doctrine, operating procedures, templates, training, coaching and mentoring. Whilst primarily employed around the Flotilla Command, the candidate will be expected to contribute to the wider Future Navy programme as required, liaising with personnel from other specialisations and organisations. Coordinating closely with the client, personal skills such as empathy and an ability to relate will be key in delivering success and will be valued over pure technical experience.

The likely background of the candidate will have been focused on delivery at the front line or directly support to it, possible as a Group Head or WO onboard a Frigate / Destroyer or the Weapon Engineer Officer (WEO) of a Minor War Vessel (Mine Countermeasures Vessel or equivalent).

Future opportunities may develop in the delivery of an Operational Sea Training (OST) Organisation and so previous experience of UK / NATO OST delivery will be considered an advantage.
